Oman Customs outlines duty exemption rules for personal goods, gifts

MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Customs at Royal Oman Police has outlined the conditions for exempting personal belongings and gifts carried by travellers from customs duties.

Under Article 19 of Decision No 110/2026, the exemption applies provided that:

  • The total value of the


    goods does not exceed RO 300.

  • The goods and gifts are


    personal and brought in non-commercial quantities.

  • The traveller is not a


    frequent visitor to customs offices or a trader in the goods carried.

  • The number of


    cigarettes eligible for exemption does not exceed 200.

The decision amends certain provisions of the Executive Regulations of the GCC Unified Customs Law.
